R8 – The Sen. Ken Maddy Handicap
Tuscan Evening (#5) looks like a nice play to get the job done in today’s feature race. We really like the jockey change to Victor Espinoza, as this jock will know how to get this filly to relax. Hollendorfer has her in top form and the shorter distance will help her chances.
Royal Taat (#3) is doing much better and will be a big play in this spot. We can get some nice odds on this mare, out of the barn of John Sadler. She’s in top form off the break. Joel Rosario stays on top which will help.
Queen Ofthe Catsle (#6) will be the one to beat. The comfort of racing back at home could put her back in the winner's circle. She made a nice move in her race, one back, and got the job done easier than the winning margin may indicate. She’s ready for another big effort.
Gotta Have Her (# 2) will need to clear from the inside post to show her best. She’s making her first start on the hillside turf course since winning the Grade 3 Las Cienegas Handicap here in April. It was her third win on today’s exact distance. She’s 3 for 3 on the downhill turf.
