Overview
We have shown you how biomechanics has played a significant role in the advancement of athletic performance in sports,
revealed the details behind the history and evolution of equine biomechanics, and highlighted the numerous industry-leading successes of our sister
company Equix Biomechanics.
Now, on to the exciting part... How the CASE data can be applied to handicapping and betting on horses.
Because Case The Race's technology is derived from Equix Biomechanics' motion analysis technology, the output of Case The Race's
analysis is data that has never before been available - measures of a horse's athleticism. Simply put, in any given race, the horse
with higher CASE numbers than the others in the race has a better athletic rating.
Athletic measures are not new in sports - they are only new to horseracing. Take the NFL combine, for example. Teams would never draft
or invest in a player without knowing his combine results and measuring his ability as an athlete. What do coaches look for as
they evaluate one player versus another at the combine? Higher scores on various athletic events:
Ultimately, teams select their players based on many different factors, including the combine results. The bottom line is that no team would make a critical player selection without the combine results. The same can be said when it comes to placing your bets at the window. The CASE data will give you the edge you need to make the most informed
decision, regardless of your handicapping method.
We have developed four separate measures, as well as an overall CASE number:
Our goal at Case The Race is to provide you with valuable ratings of a horse's athleticism as opposed to giving you picks or specific selections. As a result there is no right or wrong way to use the CASE data. We anticipate that horseplayers will develop their own unique methods for leveraging the CASE numbers.
Here are a few ways you could potentially use the CASE ratings:
Select the horse with the highest average.
Apply your own weighting to the CASE indexes. For example, you could apply 60% weighing to Endurance and then average the remaining scores equally.
Use one of the indexes exclusively.
Add these new measures to an existing handicapping method as an additional factor.
Follow patterns in the data that may indicate a horse's current form or hint at an injury, in the case of a negative trend.
Spot a longshot with high CASE ratings. All handicappers have access to the same speed and pace figures but to find real value, you need something different.
Identify potential in lightly raced horses via high CASE numbers.
Use the indexes independently, as the weighting may differ based on the race condition.
Over time, best practices will develop and you may find that certain angles become apparent; such as a horse with a high Endurance rating equating to a
high probability of success when stretching out from a sprint to a route. With better information from Case The Race, it is time for you to
start cashing tickets. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be the first with the CASE advantage on your side!
